The initial appearance of Charles Blé Goudé before the single Judge of the Pre-Trial Chamber I of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Judge Silvia Fernández de Gurmendi, is scheduled for Thursday 27 March 2014, at 10:00 (The Hague local time). Charles Blé Goudé was surrendered to the ICC by the national authorities of Côte d´Ivoire on 22 March 2014 following a warrant of arrest issued by the ICC on 21 December 2011.

Legal aid granted provisionally to Laurent Gbagbo

On 28 December 2011, the Registrar of the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued a provisional decision on Laurent Gbagbo’s application for legal aid. The Registrar considered Mr Gbagbo to be eligible for legal assistance paid by the Court, in light of the statements on his financial situation contained in the application which he submitted on 6 December 2011. He has been granted legal aid on a provisional basis, pending verification of the information on his means and the outcome of the investigation into his financial situation.
