Future Malian lawyers talked with ICC staff about international criminal law, in preparation for a moot court competition on international crimes
The ICC team in Mali talked with some twenty students from several law universities in Bamako, participating in the moot court competition “Counsel, the floor is yours”. TRIJEUD (Tribune des Jeunes pour le Droit au Mali) organised the event, designed for future Malian lawyers.
Through video conference call, students talked with the ICC team about the Court’s work, the types of referrals and the crimes within its jurisdiction.
Students showed interest in the ICC Core legal texts, like the Rome Statute and the Elements of Crimes. These documents will serve as a guide for future Malian lawyers in their studies and will help deepen their knowledge of international crimes.
