New ICC Registrar Peter Lewis to be sworn in on 17 April 2018

A swearing-in Ceremony for the new registrar of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Mr Peter Lewis, will be held on Tuesday 17 April 2018, at 13:00 (The Hague local time) in Courtroom I at the seat of the Court in The Hague (Netherlands). 

On 28 March 2018, Mr Peter Lewis was elected as ICC Registrar by ICC judges for a period of five years. He will succeed Mr Herman von Hebel, whose current five-year mandate ends on 16 April 2018.

The Registrar will take a public oath declaring: "I solemnly undertake that I will perform my duties and exercise my powers as Registrar of the International Criminal Court honourably, faithfully, impartially and conscientiously, and that I will respect the confidentiality of investigations and prosecutions".
